About the Organization
St. Ambrose College of Education is a public college of education located in Dormaa Akwamu in the Bono Region, affiliated to the University of Cape Coast.
Position Overview
The Finance Officer serves as the Chief Accounting Officer and Chief Financial Advisor to the Principal of the college. This position is responsible to the Principal for the comprehensive financial administration of the college.
Key Responsibilities
- Collection of all legitimate revenue due to the college
- Sourcing funds for the college
- Implementation of policies relating to accounting and financial control and the financial health of the college
- Proper record keeping of all college property, assets, stocks, valuables, and funds in a register
- Exercising control over expenditure in line with the college's objectives and budgets
- Preparation of annual budget of the college for presentation to the appropriate governing body for approval and implementation
- Ensuring that financial statements of the college are drawn up in accordance with the law establishing the colleges, the statutes, applicable accounting standards, and all other regulations approved by the college and relevant national laws
- Liaising with appointed external auditors to ensure the college's financial statements are audited
- Liaising with ministries, departments, and agencies regarding financial matters affecting the college
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Hold a good first degree and a master's degree in Accounting or Finance
- Possess a professional qualification
