Position Overview

Canwin Hotel is seeking a professional Waiter/Waitress to join our restaurant and bar team. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional service to our guests by taking orders, serving food and beverages, and coordinating with kitchen and bar staff to ensure a seamless dining experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet and escort customers to their tables
• Present menus and provide detailed information about portions, ingredients, and potential food allergies when asked
• Prepare tables by setting up linens, silverware, and glasses
• Inform customers about daily specials and menu changes
• Offer menu recommendations upon request and up-sell additional products when appropriate
• Take accurate food and drink orders using POS ordering software, order slips, or memorization
• Check customers' IDs to ensure they meet minimum age requirements for alcoholic beverages
• Communicate order details to kitchen staff
• Serve food and drink orders with attention to presentation and quality
• Check dishes and kitchenware for cleanliness and presentation, reporting any problems
• Maintain tidy table settings and dining areas throughout service
• Deliver checks and collect bill payments
• Carry dirty plates, glasses, and silverware to the kitchen for cleaning
• Meet with restaurant staff to review daily specials, menu changes, and service specifications for reservations
• Follow all relevant health department regulations
• Provide excellent customer service to all guests

Required Qualifications

• Prior experience as a waiter/waitress or in a related hospitality field
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Consistent, professional dress and manner
• Strong ability to multitask and manage multiple tables
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word and Excel)
• Competency with POS ordering systems
• Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high service standards
