Position Overview

The Network/Systems Administrator reports to the Chief Information Technology Officer (CITO) or their representative and is responsible for identifying the specific IT needs of assigned college/unit and ensuring all IT services are provided in a timely manner. This role supports the unit in alignment with the University of Ghana's vision and mission, based on UGCS standard operating procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Under the auspices of UGCS, the Network/Systems Administrator will:

• Provide oversight and leadership for the college/unit in all areas of ICT planning and management
• Work with central IT managers to ensure alignment of UGCS IT services with University of Ghana objectives
• Provide leadership and supervision to IT staff within the college/unit, monitoring performance, quality, and efficiency
• Collaborate with IT managers across UGCS to optimize service delivery
• Recommend innovative approaches to providing relevant IT services to the college/unit
• Ensure compliance with IT policies, procedures, and standards
• Organize IT resources to support business objectives
• Coordinate with other departments and teams to understand and meet business systems requirements
• Perform periodic performance reporting to support capacity planning
• Develop and supervise implementation of staff workplans for constituent schools
• Conduct staff performance appraisals and other assignments as directed by the CITO or Provost

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or related field
• Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunications Engineering, or Data Communication
