## Title: Staff Writer – Business

About the Role

Graphic Communications Group LTD is seeking a Staff Writer to join our Business division. In this full-time position, you will be responsible for comprehensive business reporting and analysis for both our online portal and print newspaper.

Key Responsibilities

  • Report on business-related events and activities nationwide for online and print publications
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of finance, insurance, business, and banking sectors
  • Conduct interviews for selected business news stories
  • Edit and proofread business stories before submission
  • Report on stock exchange activities, money market movements, and general economic news
  • Collaborate on special stories and investigations, taking lead writer role when necessary
  • Mentor junior writers and interns to develop their professional reporting skills

Required Qualifications & Experience

You must have one of the following:

  • First Degree in Communication, Journalism Studies, or related field with 4+ years of professional experience, primarily in business reporting, OR
  • Diploma in Journalism from a reputable institution with 5+ years of professional experience, primarily in business reporting
  • Current membership with the Ghana Journalists Association

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong report writing abilities
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines and work extended hours
  • Flexibility with working arrangements
  • Strong computer literacy, including page planning software
  • Advanced editing and social media skills
  • Research methodology skills (preferred but not essential)
