Senior Procurement Officer at Water Resources Commission Of Ghana

Position Overview

A reputable public service organisation invites applications from suitably qualified Ghanaians to fill a vacant Senior Procurement Officer position in the Head Office and its basin offices.

Job Purpose

To provide technical and operational support for the effective and efficient performance of the procurement functions of the commission.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Collate data for the formulation of policies
• Implement, monitor and evaluate programmes and activities of the unit
• Develop procurement manuals and procedures for the commission
• Develop, maintain and update the database of suppliers, contractors and service providers as well as the procurement activities of the commission
• Prepare annual and other periodic reports of the procurement functions to the Public Procurement Authority through the Head of Entity
• Manage stores and the disposal of assets in accordance with laid down procedures and regulations
• Prepare annual and other periodic reports of the unit
• Supervise and appraise performance of subordinate staff

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Master's degree in Procurement Management, Supply Chain Management, or any other related discipline from an accredited tertiary institution
• Chartered membership of a recognised and relevant professional body (e.g., CIPs)
• Minimum 4 years of post-bachelor's or equivalent professional work experience in procurement from a reputable organisation
