About Newmont Africa Operations

Newmont's Africa Operations manages two gold mining operations in Ghana:

• Ahafo Mine (located in the Brong-Ahafo region)
• Akyem Mine (located in the Eastern region)

The operations also conduct near-mine exploration and development activities in Ghana to annually replace gold reserves, with early-stage exploration programs in Ethiopia and Morocco.

Africa Operations employs approximately 5,900 employees and contractors, with the majority working at the Ahafo Mine. Both mines have established Development Funds with each mine contributing US$1 per ounce of gold sold and 1% of net pre-tax annual profit into community development initiatives.

This position is responsible for managing process operations and plant-specific training programs and activities, including conducting induction training for new employees.
