About the Organization

The Water Resources Commission of Ghana is a reputable public service organization seeking suitably qualified Ghanaian professionals to join its Head Office and basin offices.

Job Purpose

To provide technical and operational support for the effective and efficient performance of the financial management functions of the commission.

Key Responsibilities

• Collate data for the formulation of policies
• Implement, monitor, and evaluate programmes and activities of the unit
• Conduct analysis and interpretation of financial reports for the commission
• Prepare and submit annual and other periodic financial reports of the commission
• Handle receipt, disbursement, and provide secure custody for moneys payable into the consolidated fund and other funds designated under the commission
• Process payments
• Collate data for the development and review of accounting manuals for the commission
• Provide financial advice for the development of proposals
• Implement financial recommendations contained in audit reports
• Collate data for the development and review of financial control systems for the commission
• Prepare the budget and work plans of the unit
• Supervise and appraise performance of subordinate staff

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Master's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or any other related discipline from an accredited tertiary institution
• Chartered membership of a recognised and relevant professional body (e.g., ICA-GH, ACCA, CPA, or CIMA)
• Minimum of 4 years of post-bachelor's or equivalent professional relevant work experience in a reputable organisation
