Senior Manager, Refinery and Petrochemicals at KPMG Ghana

Role Summary

The role holder will be responsible for leading, directing, and facilitating the coordination of operating activities associated with refinery and petrochemical plants in a safe, efficient, cost-effective, and environmentally responsible manner.

Key Accountabilities

• Manage daily operations, maintenance, laboratory, and project work for refinery and petrochemical plants
• Ensure quality and quantity standards of petroleum products meet National and International requirements
• Facilitate development of safe operating procedures for refinery and petrochemical plants
• Provide leadership and coordinate training programmes for all technical and non-technical personnel
• Provide input to the development of refinery and operating run plans, and implement finalized plans
• Provide guidance in setting annual refinery and petrochemical plant expense budgets and manage budgets including reconciliation and forecasting to ensure operations remain within approved budgets
• Ensure timely approval of purchase requisitions and invoices
• Assist in prioritizing maintenance work
• Ensure plants and refinery meet environmental reporting requirements

Skills and Competency Requirements

• Demonstrated knowledge of refinery processes and finished fuels additives and treatment
• Solid understanding of demulsification, corrosion control, fouling control, water treatment, and finished fuel additives
• Self-motivated and proactive with initiative to lead and solve problems
• Experience in mentoring, developing, and motivating teams
