Position Overview
The University of Ghana invites applications from suitably qualified persons for the position of Risk Officer.
Reporting Structure
Reports to: Chief Risk Officer
Direct Supervisor: Assistant Risk Officer
Job Purpose
Coordinating the identification, assessment, mitigation, monitoring, and reporting of risks across the University.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist the Chief Risk Officer in the development and deployment of core enterprise risk management tools including risk identification, assessment, prioritization, mitigation, monitoring, and reporting
- Work with risk owners to identify and monitor emergent risks and report on them
- Support risk owners in completing periodic risk analyses and develop risk documentation and reports
- Assist the Chief Risk Officer in deploying business continuity, disaster recovery, and emergency response procedures across the University
- Educate the University community on the University's risk management strategy
- Train and communicate with University staff regarding the University's Risk Management Policy, Framework, and Guidelines
- Submit periodic reports on the status of risk management to the Chief Risk Officer
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree and Master's degree in Risk Management, Auditing, Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Statistics, or Insurance
- Minimum of five (5) years of working experience in Enterprise Risk Management
- Membership of a professional Risk Management Body (highly desirable)
