Project Manager at University of Ghana

Position Overview

The University of Ghana invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for appointment as Project Manager within the Physical Development and Municipal Services Directorate (PDMSD). This role oversees, coordinates, and implements capital development projects both on-campus and off-campus, ensuring compliance with planning regulations, sustainability practices, and institutional objectives.

Reporting Structure

Reports to: Director, Physical Development and Municipal Services Directorate (PDMSD)

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee, coordinate, and implement capital development projects on-campus and off-campus
• Manage project planning and execution from conception to completion
• Provide project execution and oversight ensuring timely delivery
• Engage and communicate effectively with all stakeholders
• Ensure regulatory compliance and implementation of sustainability practices
• Manage project budgets and mobilize resources effectively
• Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks
• Maintain quality control standards throughout project lifecycle

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in the built environment or a related field
• Master's degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field
• Professional certification in Project Management (PMI-PMP, PRINCE2, IPMP-GH, IET-GH, GHIE, or Six Sigma)

Required Experience

• Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in project management and construction supervision
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a project team within a university or similar institution

Required Skills and Abilities

• Demonstrated experience in managing budgets
• Ability to lead and coordinate multi-disciplinary teams
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
• Expertise in project management and strategic planning
