About Alliance for Reproductive Health Rights (ARHR)

The Alliance for Reproductive Health Rights (ARHR) is a network of Ghanaian Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) and Community-based Organizations (CBOs) established in 2004. We promote a rights-based approach to reproductive, maternal, newborn, child, and adolescent health (RMNCAH) through advocacy, research, and capacity building.

ARHR leads civil society organizations to advocate for strengthened health systems to achieve Universal Health Coverage (UHC), with an emphasis on increased investment in Primary Health Care (PHC). We convene dialogues between civil society, the private sector, media, academia, and state actors to demand accountability in health resource mobilization, allocation, and expenditure using evidence-based information. ARHR also engages in policy advocacy by tracking gaps between policy and practice and utilizing evidence to inform policy review.

Position Overview

The Programme Officer will support the implementation of a family planning initiative aimed at accelerating family planning achievements in Ghana. This includes providing technical assistance to Ghana Health Service to scale up long-acting reversible and permanent contraceptive methods at public sites across the country.

Key Responsibilities

• Support implementation of initiatives focused on scaling up family planning services
• Provide technical assistance to Ghana Health Service and regional directorates
• Facilitate capacity building of the Government of Ghana's family planning stewardship
• Support healthcare worker training programs
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives
• Provide targeted assistance to regional Ghana Health Service directorates to scale up family planning services across 100% of districts
• Engage civil society in strengthening the enabling environment for adolescent-responsive family planning
