About the Position
Presbyterian Women's College of Education, Aburi is seeking to recruit a Procurement Officer. The Procurement Officer will serve as Head of the College's Procurement Unit and will perform duties relating to the procurement of goods, services, and works.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise the procurement section of the college
- Prepare procurement plans for goods, services, and works for the college
- Ensure adherence to procurement regulations as contained in the Procurement Act 2003 and other applicable regulatory frameworks
- Formulate procurement plans and strategies and assist in processing tender advertisements
- Prepare tender bids
- Supervise the maintenance and updating of a proper database of suppliers, service providers, and consultants
- Monitor contracts to ensure conformance and compliance with contract terms
- Compile procurement requests from user departments for action
- Perform other functions as assigned by the Governing Council or delegated by the Principal
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Hold a relevant first degree and a master's degree in procurement
- Possess a professional qualification in a relevant field and be a member of a relevant professional body
- Have served as a Deputy Procurement Officer or Chief Procurement Assistant in a College of Education or comparable grade in a similar institution/organization for at least 4 years
- Be able to complete at least one full term of 4 years before attaining the compulsory retirement age of 60
