Position Overview

The University of Ghana invites applications from suitably qualified persons for the position of Principal, Kumasi City Campus. The Principal serves as the academic and administrative head of the Kumasi City Campus, providing strategic direction and leadership as determined by the Council and Academic Board of the University.

Reporting Line

Reports to: Provost, College of Education

Key Responsibilities

• Provide administrative and academic direction and leadership for the Campus
• Maintain and promote the efficiency and good order of the Campus in accordance with the University Act, Statutes, and policies prescribed by the Council and Academic Board
• Ensure that approved programmes and functions of the Campus are duly executed
• Oversee the general administration of the Campus, including management of human, financial, and material resources within the University's policy framework
• Foster a collegial and efficient working environment across the Campus

Required Qualifications and Attributes

• Professorial status from an academic/research institution, or equivalent eligibility from industry
• Demonstrated managerial and administrative leadership experience
• Proven capacity to attract funding for research and development
• Strong academic leadership capabilities, particularly in teaching, research, and extension activities within relevant disciplines
• Vision and drive to oversee the growth and development of the Kumasi City Campus
