Manager, Data Privacy & Protection at MTN Ghana

Position Overview

This is a full-time management position within the Risk & Compliance division, specifically the Compliance department. The Manager, Data Privacy & Protection will be responsible for implementing and overseeing the company's data privacy and protection program in alignment with applicable data protection laws and internal compliance frameworks. This role ensures the lawful, ethical, and secure processing of personal data while supporting business objectives and managing data privacy and protection-related risks.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain MTN Ghana's data privacy and protection framework in compliance with the Ghana Data Protection Act and other applicable laws
• Conduct Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) for new systems, products, services, and third-party engagements
• Develop, review, and update privacy policies, procedures, and guidelines, ensuring they reflect legal and regulatory changes
• Maintain a comprehensive data inventory and personal data flow map across the organisation
• Monitor compliance with data protection policies through regular audits, testing, and monitoring activities
• Coordinate internal investigations into privacy-related incidents, ensuring prompt resolution and reporting to authorities where necessary
• Support the development and integration of "privacy by design and default" into systems, products, and processes
• Develop, deliver, and facilitate privacy programmes, including initial orientation and continuous privacy training for all employees, volunteers, contractors, alliances, business associates, and other appropriate third parties
• Collaborate with legal, IT, marketing, HR, and other departments on data privacy matters
