Lecturers / Research Fellows at National College of Defence Studies (NCDS)

Position Overview

The Lecturer / Research Fellow will be responsible for teaching, conducting basic and applied research, supervising student dissertations, academic assessment, and academic administration at the National College of Defence Studies (NCDS).

Key Responsibilities

• Teach at least 3 of the College's courses
• Design and develop the college's core training and academic courses
• Demonstrate competence in your area of expertise through classroom instruction and public presentations, including seminars and conferences
• Supervise students daily and evaluate assignments, term papers, and dissertations
• Demonstrate competence in developing and implementing innovative teaching methods, guidance, and mentorship for students
• Participate in curriculum development leading to new courses, programs, or training manuals
• Undertake active research and publish at least one article per year
• Generate at least three knowledge products annually in the form of journal articles, book chapters, occasional papers, or books
• Develop proposals for major research projects that contribute to new knowledge, theory, or concepts with policy relevance
• Contribute to other relevant work undertaken by the college

Required Qualifications

• Minimum PhD degree in Political Science or equivalent international qualification
• At least 5 years of relevant work experience with proven teaching, research, and publication records
• Minimum of 5 peer-reviewed publications
• Computer literacy and demonstrable knowledge of research-related software packages
