About the Position

The Department of Plant and Environmental Biology under the School of Biological Sciences at University of Ghana invites applications from qualified professionals for a full-time position as Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Phycology.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• BSc. in Plant Science or related disciplines (preferably Aquatic Biology or Botany)
• PhD in Plant Biology with expertise in algae (Phycology)
• Demonstrated capacity to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Ability to promote development of Plant Tissue Culture programmes
• Strong track record in grantsmanship and state-of-the-art research
• Capability to teach other Basic Plant Science courses
• Age not exceeding 45 years at the time of application

Key Responsibilities

• Teach and deliver lectures in Phycology
• Contribute to other Basic Plant Science courses
• Conduct research in algae and related areas
• Support the development of Plant Tissue Culture programmes
• Pursue research funding and grants
