Role Overview

Working with the Youth Employment and Skills (YES) team, the interpreter will serve as a liaison between ACET staff and French-speaking partner institutions. You will interpret both English and French during meetings and translate written communications. You will primarily work on the YES Pan-African Coalition for Transformation (PACT) project, which brings together key stakeholders for policy engagement on youth employment and skills issues.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide interpretation services during YES-PACT meetings as needed (typically one-hour sessions scheduled as required)
• Attend monthly YES-PACT secretariat meetings to serve as interpreter (1.5 hours per month)
• Translate written communications between ACET and YES PACT partners, including emails, Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, and presentations

• Contract Duration: 1 year
• Employment Type: Part-time/Consultant (paid hourly for hours worked)
• Location: Accra, Ghana
• Flexibility Required: Must be available on short notice with a minimum of 24 hours notice when possible

Requirements

• Fluency in both English and French (written and spoken)
• Professional interpretation and translation experience
• Ability to work flexibly with short-notice availability
• Strong communication skills
