About the Role

A reputable institution operating within the marine sector is seeking a qualified Internal Auditor to lead the Internal Audit Department. This is a full-time position based in Accra, Ghana.

Core Responsibilities

• Head the Internal Audit Department and supervise all audit staff
• Oversee accounting and internal control systems
• Ensure compliance with all financial control mechanisms within the company
• Examine all financial and operational transactions
• Ensure full compliance with and review of all financial regulations and laws
• Conduct special investigations into suspected fraud and related situations
• Examine financial operations and make recommendations to block revenue leakages and losses
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Mathematics, or Actuarial Science
• Qualified membership of a professional accounting body (ACCA, ICA, or CIMA)
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Audit/Finance
• At least 3 years in a similar Internal Auditor position
• Demonstrable experience in internal audit and investigation

Required Skills and Experience

• Expertise in audit tools and techniques
• Proficiency with Sage Evolution Solution Software
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
• Strong leadership and management skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Advanced report writing and presentation skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Certification and membership of the Chartered Institute of Internal Auditors (CIIA)
• Work experience in a unionized environment
