Head of Mine Technical Services at Golden Star (Wassa) Limited

About the Role

Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, you will lead the Technical Services team to deliver best practice services and support across mine design, mine planning, survey, geotechnical, geology, mineral resource management, hydrology, and growth studies.

You will be central to applying technical expertise via systems, processes, and technologies to support the achievement of the mine's performance targets. You will be accountable for developing robust business plans to maximize the value of the mineral resource.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop strategic mine plans that maximize value of the company's assets
• Shape strategic evolution and ensure sustainability of mining operations through various studies
• Initiate and lead scenario planning for medium and long-term mine plans in response to market and business performance
• Consolidate short, medium, and long-term planning information from all areas
• Coordinate various teams across the business to ensure fully integrated mine plans are developed
• Implement best practices across all mine technical areas
• Analyse and interpret mining data towards continuous improvement of mining operations
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
• Enhance management systems and standards across all mine technical disciplines

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Degree in Mine Engineering, Geology, or related disciplines
• At least 10 years of experience on mine sites located in developing countries, with 5 years' experience in a similar role
• At least 3 years in underground mine design (long hole stoping, cut and fill), mine planning, and scheduling
• Familiarity with JORC code guidelines and experience in resource estimation
