Position Overview:
Job Title: Intern (Planning & Data Component)
Project Brief:
- Governance for Inclusive Development (GovID) – The Planning and Data Component is the successive component of the Internally Generated Fund Component (IGF). The purpose of the component is to ensure that spatial planning at the subnational level (MMDAs) are enhanced using modern Geographic Information System and Remote Sensing
- The intern will be part of the Planning and Data compoent of the Governance for Inclusive Development (GovID) Programme.
- The job will entail working with the subnational and national institutions in ensuring that the component’s objective of ensuring proper spatial planning and data management at the subnational level is realized.
- Support the design and implementation of capacity building projects with partner institutions to aid in their spatial planning
- Contribute to the timely implementation of workplans
- Contribute to the reporting and knowledge management of the GovID Programme
- Support the design and preparation of workshops, seminars and other events
- Support regular engagements with partner institutions and other relevant stakeholders
- Perform other duties and tasks at the request of management
- Develop and execute training concepts on the use of GIS and remote sensing in spatial planning at the local level
- Student currently enrolled in a Master’s Programme or having finished their Bachelor’s degree in the field of Urban Planning, Geoinformatics, Development Planning or related fields less than six months ago by the start of the internship may apply.
- Foundational knowledge and strong interest in Urban Development, Spatial Planning, Decentralisation.
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work in a multicultural environment.
- Motivated team player with an organized, systematic, proactive, detail- and goal-oriented work approach
- Excellent command of the English language (written & spoken)
