The Ghana News Agency (GNA) is inviting applications from suitably qualified, result-driven, competent, and dynamic professionals to fill the vacant position of Security Officer.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Security Officer to maintain order and safety at our premises in Ho, Ghana. You will be responsible for protecting our property and staff by ensuring a secure environment and implementing comprehensive security protocols.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain order and security at the Agency's premises
• Inspect loads of incoming and outgoing vehicles
• Prevent unauthorized persons from accessing the premises
• Protect property and staff by maintaining a safe and secure environment
• Monitor for signs of crime or disorder and investigate disturbances
• Apprehend criminals and evict violators
• Document unusual occurrences with accurate notes
• Report suspicious incidents in detail
• Conduct random and regular patrols of buildings and perimeters
• Monitor and control access at building entrances and vehicle gates
• Monitor alarm systems and video cameras, and operate detecting and emergency equipment
• Perform additional duties as assigned by Supervisor

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Proven work experience as a Security Guard or in a relevant position for at least three (3) years
• Senior High School Certificate or Diploma minimum
• Ability to operate detecting systems and emergency equipment
• Excellent knowledge of public safety and security procedures and protocols
• Strong surveillance skills and attention to detail
• Good understanding of area security and public safety guidelines
• Experience with report writing
• Outstanding observation and surveillance skills
• Good time-management skills
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Integrity and professionalism
