About Newmont Africa Operations

Newmont's Africa Operations manages two gold mining operations in Ghana:

• Ahafo Mine (located in the Brong-Ahafo region)
• Akyem Mine (located in the Eastern region)

The division also operates near-mine exploration and development programs in Ghana to annually replace gold reserves, with early-stage exploration programs in Ethiopia and Morocco.

Africa Operations employs approximately 5,900 employees and contractors, with the majority working at the Ahafo Mine. We maintain high standards in environmental management, health and safety, and community development.

Community Development Commitment

Both Akyem and Ahafo mines have established Development Funds in their operational areas. Each mine contributes US$1 per ounce of gold sold and 1% of net pre-tax annual profit into its community development fund for sustainable community development investments.

About This Role

This position provides mining operation geotechnical engineering and hydrogeological support related to the design and construction of key features within operations.
