About the Role
Shawbell Consulting is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to oversee all financial operations and provide strategic financial guidance to senior management. You will be responsible for financial planning, analysis, and ensuring the organization maintains the highest standards of financial integrity and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all financial planning and analysis activities
- Forecast future financial performance and identify trends
- Prepare, analyze, and track budgets, including variance analysis and reporting
- Prepare and review company financial statements to ensure accuracy
- Provide accurate and timely financial reports to management
- Recommend changes to policies and procedures to improve financial performance
- Ensure compliance with government and industry regulations
- Manage and oversee the Finance Department
- Support managers and staff across functional units to ensure efficiency in financial systems and procedures
- Plan and lead engagements with key external parties on finance, banking, and operational matters
Key Relationships
- Reports to the Managing Director
- Provides oversight of the Finance Department
- Collaborates with managers and staff across all functional units
- Engages with external partners on finance and banking functions
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
- Extensive experience managing finance teams
- Proven expertise in preparing and analyzing financial reports
- Demonstrated ability to improve financial tools and systems
- Professional qualification as a Chartered Accountant
- Strong business and commercial acumen in accounting, budget preparation, variance analysis, revenue management, and capital expenditure planning
- Proficiency in MS Excel and financial software including financial modeling and forecasting tools
- Deep knowledge of and working familiarity with relevant statutory laws and regulations
- Uncompromising integrity with ability to maintain high compliance standards and good corporate governance
- Strategic thinking and analytical capabilities
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA or related post-graduate qualification
