About Our Africa Operations

Newmont's Africa Operations manages two gold mining operations in Ghana:

• Ahafo Mine (Brong-Ahafo region)
• Akyem Mine (Eastern region)

The operations also include near-mine exploration and development focus in Ghana to annually replace gold reserves, with early-stage exploration programs in Ethiopia and Morocco. Our Africa operations employ approximately 5,900 employees and contractors, with the majority working at the Ahafo Mine.

Our Akyem and Ahafo mines have made significant sustainable community development investments in host communities. Each mine contributes US$1 per ounce of gold sold and 1% of net pre-tax annual profit into its community development fund.

Assist in providing support services during drill operations, including consumable management, change-outs, and quality assurance for all drill holes.
