Director, Risk at KPMG Ghana

Role Summary

The Director of Risk is responsible for the strategic oversight of risk management within the organisation. You will proactively identify, analyse, and mitigate internal and external risks to protect organisational assets and reputation.

Key Accountabilities

• Provide strategic oversight and leadership of enterprise risk across the organisation
• Assess and determine risk tolerance levels in various activities and establish corporate-wide risk appetite
• Prepare and deliver regular risk reports to Management and Board
• Advise the Board on strategies to mitigate identified risks within the organisation
• Develop and design policies, processes, and reporting procedures to identify, measure, monitor, manage, and report on risks on a continuous basis at both individual and aggregated levels
• Oversee strategic, governance, operational, reputational, and compliance risks
• Establish and maintain an effective risk and compliance awareness culture within the organisation
• Provide strategic engagement with internal and external stakeholders, including regulators, on risk-related matters
• Assess and mitigate partner, venture, and project risks, including financial exposures

Required Skills & Competencies

• Risk Control Mindset: Demonstrated mastery of risk disciplines at an organisation-wide and integrated level, including risk processes, tools, techniques, capital management, and risk-related regulations and compliance
• Strong business acumen with sound business and financial judgment
• Experience in risk and compliance management (banking industry experience is advantageous)
