The Role

Reporting to the Executive Secretary, the Director of Research and Technical Services will be responsible for designing and overseeing research projects, leading and mentoring staff, and producing high-quality research outputs. You will provide advice and guidance to colleagues and drive the organisation's research agenda forward.

You will demonstrate broad knowledge of research methodology and data analysis, with the ability to develop innovative research approaches. Key responsibilities include securing research funding, collaborating with relevant stakeholders, and developing the organisation's strategic and operational plans aligned with its objectives. You will also provide expert technical advice to the senior management team.

Additionally, you will plan, direct, and organise the work of the Technical Services Directorate, monitor achievements against targets, and oversee service delivery implementation in line with organisational plans.

Job Purpose

To provide leadership, technical, and administrative direction in research and technical services for the achievement of the Council's mandate.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide inputs for the formulation of Council policies
• Exercise oversight responsibility for the efficient and effective management of Directorate resources
• Ensure implementation of Directorate policies and programmes
• Develop guidelines, standards, and procedures for research and technical services
• Establish and maintain excellence in research and technical service delivery
