Director of Operations at Internal Audit Agency

Position Overview

A reputable Public Service Organisation invites applications from eligible individuals for the position of Director of Operations.

Job Purpose

To assist the Deputy Director-General to ensure conformity with standards in Internal Auditing within the covered entities.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage activities in the Operations Department of the organisation
• Supervise the review of quarterly internal audit reports from public institutions and provide feedback
• Provide direction for investigations and special audits assigned by management
• Provide technical guidance and support for internal audit staff in public institutions
• Ensure that risk management is embedded in the activities of the division
• Submit draft monthly, quarterly and annual reports on department's activities
• Monitor the performance of subordinates
• Coach, mentor and provide on-the-job training for subordinates

Qualifications & Experience Required

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent from a recognised tertiary institution
• Post-graduate qualification in auditing, accounting or related field of specialization, and/or certified membership with a recognised professional body (e.g. ICA, ACCA, CIA)
• Minimum 10 years of post-qualification relevant working experience in professional auditing or accounting in a reputable public or private organisation
• Minimum 5 years of experience at senior management level in the public or private sector
• Computer literacy with ability to apply computer-aided techniques to undertake auditing
