Director Of Internal Audit at SD Dombo University

About the Position

SD Dombo University of Business and Integrated Development Studies invites applications from suitably qualified professionals for the position of Director of Internal Audit.

The Director of Internal Audit is the Head of the Internal Audit Directorate of the University and reports to the Vice Chancellor. This role is responsible for providing effective leadership and promoting good governance in accordance with University regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the Internal Audit Directorate
• Ensure effective internal audit functions across the University
• Promote good governance practices
• Provide strategic oversight and direction to audit staff

Required Qualifications

• Master's Degree minimum in Finance, Accounting, Auditing, or related discipline
• Membership with the Institute of Chartered Accountants Ghana (ICAG)
• Previous experience as Deputy Internal Auditor or equivalent rank in a university or analogous institution

Alternative Experience Requirements

• Minimum of 12 years post-qualification experience as a Professional Accountant in a reputable firm, industry, commerce, and/or public service
• Demonstrated experience in auditing and controls

Required Competencies & Skills

• Strong knowledge of the Public Procurement Act 2003, Public Financial Administration Act 2016, Internal Audit Act, and related legal frameworks
• Ability to coordinate work across units, sections, and teams
• Proven capability to initiate and develop policies
• Comprehensive knowledge of university administration, governance systems, and organizational structures
• Advanced IT skills and ability to adapt to new technologies
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong leadership qualities and organizational skills
• Professional integrity and ethical standards
• Demonstrated capacity to motivate and direct staff
