Position Overview

A reputable public service organization invites applications from eligible individuals for the position of Deputy Director, Standards and Compliance (Head of Region – Western and Northern).

Job Purpose

To provide technical and operational support in standards and compliance for the achievement of the organization's mandate.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide input for the formulation of organizational policies
• Supervise the development and review of standards, guidelines, processes, and procedures for licensing and registration
• Oversee the development of a comprehensive database on departmental programmes and activities
• Supervise field inspection of teacher training facilities and service providers
• Collaborate closely with officers, departments, and other stakeholders in the implementation of departmental programmes and activities
• Supervise the development of annual work plans for the department
• Oversee the preparation of departmental budgets
• Supervise the preparation of annual and other periodic reports
• Supervise and appraise the performance of subordinate staff

Required Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Education or a related field from an accredited tertiary institution
• Minimum of 8 years of post-qualification relevant work experience, with at least 4 years in a senior management position in a reputable institution
• Must pass a competitive selection interview

Required Competencies

• Excellent leadership, networking, monitoring, and management skills
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
• Extensive knowledge and experience in managing training programmes
