Position Overview

The University of Ghana invites applications from suitably qualified persons for the position of Dean, School of Veterinary Medicine, College of Basic and Applied Sciences.

Reporting Structure

Reports to: Provost, College of Basic and Applied Sciences

College Objectives

The College of Basic and Applied Sciences advances its constituent units' objectives through:

• Developing world-class scientists to meet national and global developmental needs through quality teaching, learning, research, innovation, and extension
• Enhancing employee capacity through systematic staff development programs
• Enhancing research capabilities of staff for increased output in teaching and publications
• Developing effective processes for public engagement through extension services, policy development, and advocacy
• Creating a congenial environment for teaching, research, and student learning experiences

Key Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to the School and maintain efficiency and good order in accordance with University policies and procedures
• Ensure that approved programs and functions of the School are carried out by School members
• Oversee general administration of the School regarding human, financial, and material resources within the University's policy framework

Required Qualifications

• Minimum rank of Associate Professor
