Position Overview

We are seeking a Cost Accountant to join our team on a full-time basis.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare sales tax invoices for customers and clients
• Update, maintain, and verify physical assets in the asset register
• Prepare stamped dispatch notes for all vehicles involved in plywood delivery
• Develop and maintain accurate filing systems for all company customers and clients for accessibility
• Prepare monthly statements of accounts for all company customers
• Conduct debt collection for due invoices
• Assist the finance manager in preparing monthly trial balance for the plymill division for consolidation into the main company trial balance
• Conduct and coordinate quarterly and year-end physical stock-take procedures, checking records and verifying all stock items
• Develop and maintain the cost accounting system, documents, and job costing records for the plymill
• Analyse production costs and prepare regular reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs
• Estimate costs for new and proposed products
• Analyse production and operating costs, recommending cost savings and waste reduction opportunities
• Manage stock costing and control

Qualifications and Experience Required

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance from a recognised university
• Qualified Chartered Accountant of Ghana and member in good standing with the Institute of Chartered Accountants
