Control Systems Engineer at TAQA Ghana

Job Purpose

Provide technical leadership and hands-on support for power plant operations through expertise in industrial control systems including Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), Human Machine Interfaces, network switches, industrial control computing systems, and associated instrumentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Comply with health and safety policies and procedures; demonstrate strong safety awareness by reporting safety observations and near misses
• Provide technical expertise and leadership in control system engineering, design, implementation, programming/configuration, commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting for power plant controls and Industrial Control Systems (DCS, PLC)
• Support control system devices, computers, communications, networks, and instrumentation across all operational phases
• Provide consultation, evaluation, and recommendations on specifications, work scopes, bids, test procedures, alarm response procedures, commissioning plans, and vendor reports
• Ensure compliance with Ghana and International regulatory requirements, including cyber security standards and related compliance initiatives
• Manage multiple control engineering responsibilities in parallel with project involvements and oversee vendor/contractor support as needed
• Supervise and provide technical direction to instrumentation and control technicians performing installation of turbine controls and related interface devices
