About Wesley College of Education
Wesley College of Education is a public teacher educational institution located in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. The college is affiliated with the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Kumasi and operates under the new Teacher Education Reform framework.
Position Overview
The College Secretary serves as the Head of the College Secretariat. This role is responsible for overseeing all administrative, secretarial, and personnel matters of the college.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Principal in the administration and management of the college
- Ensure the functioning of all boards and standing committees of the college
- Serve as Secretary to the College Council, all committees of Council, and all statutory committees of the college
- Manage human resources functions
- Keep and maintain inventory of the college's assets
- Manage and oversee development of the college's assets
- Administer and organize admissions processes
- Organize examinations and manage publication of results
- Organize all official ceremonies including matriculation, congregation, and convocation
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree (first degree) with a good classification
- Postgraduate degree, preferably in Administration and Management or related field
- Minimum 4 years of experience as a Deputy Secretary in a College of Education or comparable grade in a similar institution or organization
- Strong IT skills and familiarity with relevant administrative software
- Analytical, critical, result-oriented, innovative, and visionary mindset
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and supervisory skills
