## Title: College Librarian

About the Role

The College Librarian has overall responsibility for the library, research, and information needs of the college community. This position provides leadership in advancing the college's teaching and mission through a clear vision of the library's role, comprehensive strategic planning, and incorporation of emerging technology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the professional and administrative head of the college library
  • Draw up and monitor the implementation of the college library strategic plan
  • Establish and maintain procedures, policies, and systems that ensure efficient library operations
  • Plan, organize, coordinate, and direct the work activities of all library personnel
  • Collaborate with relevant international libraries and organizations within and outside the country to attract grants for library development and access international best practices

Required Qualifications and Experience

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Possess at least an MPhil in Library Studies, Information Studies, or related fields
  • Have served as Deputy Librarian in a College of Education or comparable grade in a similar institution/organization for at least 4 years
  • Be conversant with library records management software
  • Demonstrate analytical, critical, informative, and research-oriented thinking
  • Possess good character, leadership skills, and a high degree of professional integrity
  • Be able to complete at least one full term of 4 years before attaining the compulsory retirement age of 60 years
