About the Role

Aves International Academy in Tema is seeking experienced Language Teachers/Coordinators to teach Spanish, French, English, and other languages. This is an excellent opportunity for educators with a strong background in the Cambridge/IGCSE Program.

Key Requirements

• Minimum 4 years of progressive teaching experience in language instruction
• Bachelor's Degree in Education, relevant subject, or equivalent (further qualifications are advantageous)
• Minimum 3 years of specific language teaching experience
• Evidence of appropriate in-service training
• Knowledge of Cambridge and/or IB curriculum (preferred)

Main Responsibilities

Planning & Curriculum Design

• Identify clear teaching and learning objectives aligned with how learners will assimilate the language
• Specify teaching and assessment methods
• Set appropriate and demanding expectations for learner motivation and presentation of work
• Plan work according to unit planners, Cambridge Curriculum, and/or International Baccalaureate programs of study
• Account for learners' prior attainment levels and set improvement targets

Teaching & Class Management

• Deliver effective instruction aligned with external examination requirements
• Manage classroom learning effectively
• Implement unit plans and curriculum standards consistently

Assessment & Reporting

• Assess achievement of learning objectives and use findings to improve teaching
• Monitor, record, and report on learner progress
• Prepare and present informative reports to parents

Required Skills & Competencies

• Sound understanding of student learning processes and effective teaching methodologies
• Ability to achieve and maintain high academic standards
• High-level communication skills (oral, written, and ICT)
• Strong organizational and planning abilities
