Assistant Librarian-Research Data Management at University of Ghana

About the Position

The University of Ghana Library System invites applications from qualified professionals for the position of Assistant Librarian – Research Data Management. This role provides operational support for achieving the objectives and strategic plan of the University of Ghana Library System.

Key Responsibilities

• Advise on research data management plans and provide research support activities to academic departments
• Lead the implementation of research data services based on the needs of the university community
• Develop policies and procedures for the management of research data
• Advocate for open science, good practices, and the management and sharing of datasets
• Promote research data services to the university community
• Provide reports with written information and numerical data
• Use relevant software and tools to engage students and faculty to improve research outcomes
• Contribute to the profession through research and publishing
• Participate in extension activities
• Perform the role of a subject librarian

Required Qualifications

• A good first degree plus a research master's degree (minimum Master of Philosophy/MPhil or equivalent) in Librarianship, Information Studies, or a related discipline
• Minimum of two (2) years of relevant work experience post-master's degree qualification
• Evidence of chartered membership in a library professional association with not less than two years of membership

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Proven experience in research data management
