About the Organization
The Ghana News Agency (GNA) is inviting applications from suitably qualified, result-driven, competent, and dynamic professionals to fill various vacant positions.
Position Overview
This is a full-time administrative role within the Human Resources department, responsible for implementing HR policies, managing employee records, and supporting recruitment and staff administration functions.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Implement Human Resource policies, systems, and procedures in line with approved rules and regulations
- Assist in the preparation of leave rosters for various departments
- Monitor actual headcount of employees and prepare monthly manning reports for review and update the manning register
- Coordinate and provide necessary input during recruitment processes, including shortlisting applicants and arranging logistics in accordance with approved HR policies and procedures
- Supervise and coordinate orientation programmes for newly employed staff
- Liaise with departments to ensure placement, orientation, and probationary period requirements for new employees are strictly adhered to
- Participate in conducting staff performance appraisals
- Monitor all contracts and temporary engagements with consultants in line with approved HR policies, procedures, and related labour regulations
- Process employee actions including reimbursable claims (e.g., leave, sick leave, medical, advances/loans) for approval in line with established policy guidelines
- Handle and respond to HR operational enquiries from employees within prescribed limits of authority
- Maintain and update Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) in accordance with directives
- Maintain and update employee records and files
- Conduct training needs analysis and coordinate support for the administration and management of training programmes
