Senior Officer, Procurement at National Development Planning Commission

Job Purpose

Under the direction and guidance of the Chief Manager, provide professional support for the provision and effective management of service delivery in the procurement unit.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate policies, procedures, and routines in the procurement unit
• Support the preparation of NDPC's annual budget by providing appropriate inputs
• Manage day-to-day operations for the effective function of the unit
• Prepare periodic reports on all activities and projects related to the procurement unit
• Support in the provision of services and facilities necessary to support NDPC operations
• Ensure staff appraisals are carried out in a timely manner
• Contribute to the preparation of lists of supplies and other products needed to replenish stores on a periodic basis
• Assist in receiving and inspecting orders, and resolve order problems with vendors and departments according to stores policies and procedures
• Support in the management of stores and asset disposals in accordance with laid-down procedures and regulations
• Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Chief Manager or Director

Qualifications and Experience

• Master's Degree in HR, Administration, Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or relevant field from a recognized tertiary institution
• Minimum of six (6) years post-qualification working experience
• Membership of a recognized and relevant professional body
• Knowledge of human resources, management, procurement, supply chain management, information technology, and systems as applicable
• Pass a competitive selection interview conducted by PSC in consultation with the Commission
