About the Role
The Ghana Red Cross Society is seeking to recruit a qualified and competent Ghanaian citizen to fill the position of Secretary General.
Purpose
The Secretary General reports to the Governing Board of the Ghana Red Cross Society and is responsible for implementing the strategic goals and objectives of the organization. The Secretary General has the authority to carry out these responsibilities according to the direction and policies established by the Governing Board, including the Ghana Red Cross Statutes and Rules of Procedure.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic and visionary leadership to the organization
- Exercise full operational responsibility in developing, implementing, and evaluating strategies to address emerging issues, risks, and opportunities related to humanitarian actions
- Develop and oversee sound management systems based on good corporate governance and best practices to enhance organizational effectiveness and achieve financial sustainability
- Spearhead the implementation of strategic change management processes
- Review organizational performance to ensure effective utilization of physical, financial, and human resources

- Capacity to recognize and adjust to rapidly changing conditions and align organizational strategy accordingly
