About Our Africa Operations

Newmont's Africa Operations manages two gold mining operations in Ghana:

• Ahafo Mine – located in the Brong-Ahafo region
• Akyem Mine – located in the Eastern region

Our Africa operations also conduct near-mine exploration and development activities in Ghana to annually replace gold reserves, as well as early-stage exploration programs in Ethiopia and Morocco.

Our Workforce and Impact

Africa operations employ approximately 5,900 employees and contractors, with the majority working at the Ahafo Mine. The Akyem and Ahafo mines have made significant sustainable community development investments in host communities, including establishment of Development Funds where each mine contributes US$1 per ounce of gold sold and 1% of net pre-tax annual profit to community development initiatives.

We are seeking to appoint a Regional Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead financial operations across our Africa region.

Eligibility: Per Minerals Commission regulations on Local Content, this role is reserved for Ghanaian citizens.
