## Title: Project Manager – Physical Development

Position Overview

The University of Ghana invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for appointment as Project Manager within the Physical Development and Municipal Services Directorate (PDMSD). The Project Manager will oversee, coordinate, and implement capital development projects on-campus and off-campus, ensuring compliance with planning regulations, sustainability practices, and institutional objectives.

Reporting Structure

Reports to: Director, Physical Development and Municipal Services Directorate (PDMSD)

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Planning and Execution – Develop comprehensive project plans, timelines, and budgets for capital development initiatives
  • Project Execution and Oversight – Supervise project implementation, monitor progress, and ensure quality standards are met
  • Stakeholder Engagement and Communication – Maintain effective communication with all stakeholders and manage relationships throughout the project lifecycle
  • Regulatory Compliance and Sustainability – Ensure adherence to planning regulations and institutional sustainability practices
  • Financial Management and Resource Mobilization – Manage project budgets, secure resources, and optimize financial allocations
  • Risk Management and Quality Control – Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks while maintaining quality standards

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in the built environment or a related field
  • Master's degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field
  • Professional certification in Project Management (PMI-PMP, PRINCE2, IPMP-GH, IET-GH, GHIE, or Six Sigma)

Required Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in project management and construction supervision
  • At least 5 years of experience in a project team within a university or similar institution

Essential Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrated experience managing budgets and multi-disciplinary teams
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management abilities
  • Expertise in construction supervision and contract management
  • Strategic planning and decision-making capabilities
