Programme Officer – Wash at IRC

About the Role

IRC is seeking a Programme Officer – WASH to join our team in the Ahafo Region, Ghana. This is a full-time position responsible for managing and implementing water, sanitation, and hygiene projects at the district and regional levels.

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities

• Undertake project management with partners
• Implement field-level activities of projects in the Ahafo Region
• Support research and studies
• Facilitate learning and knowledge management at the district and regional level through District and Regional Learning Alliance Platforms
• Submit quality and timely reports on project implementation
• Support business development and fundraising initiatives
• Prepare reports for IRC reporting requirements
• Manage the District Hub office

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum of Bachelor's Degree with 3 years of relevant professional experience
• Good understanding of main concepts and trends in the water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) sector
• Relevant experience in research, including design, data analysis, and report writing
• Experience in policy analysis
• Demonstrated experience in learning and knowledge management and networking
• Proven field work coordination experience
• Fluent in English with strong writing skills
• Proficiency in one local language preferred
• Willingness to work in a district and travel nationally and internationally

• Previous experience working in a district
• Understanding of project management
• Additional professional qualifications

Contract Details

Candidates will initially be offered a one-year contract with a six-month probation period. The contract is renewable subject to good performance.
