Position Overview

The University of Ghana invites applications from suitably qualified persons for the position of Principal, Takoradi City Campus. This is a full-time, permanent position.

Reporting Structure

Reports to: Provost, College of Education

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the academic and administrative head of the Takoradi City Campus
• Provide administrative and academic direction and leadership for the Campus as determined by the Council and Academic Board of the University
• Maintain and promote the efficiency and good order of the Campus in accordance with policies and procedures prescribed by the University Act and Statutes
• Ensure that approved programmes and functions of the Campus are duly carried out
• Oversee general administration of the Campus including management of human, financial, and material resources within the University's policy framework
• Provide leadership in promoting a collegial working environment across the Campus

Required Qualifications and Attributes

• Professorial status from an academic or research institution, or equivalent eligibility from industry
• Demonstrated managerial and administrative leadership experience
• Proven capacity to attract funding for research and development
• Strong academic leadership abilities, particularly in teaching, research, and extension activities in relevant disciplines
• Vision and drive to oversee the growth and development of the Takoradi City Campus
• Ability to foster a collegial and productive working environment
