Position Overview

The University of Ghana invites applications from suitably qualified persons for the position of Principal, Takoradi City Campus, effective from 1st August 2025.

About the Role

Reporting To: Provost, College of Education

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the academic and administrative head of the Takoradi City Campus, providing direction and leadership as determined by the Council and Academic Board of the University
• Maintain and promote the efficiency and good order of the Campus in accordance with the University Act, Statutes, and policies established by the Council and Academic Board
• Ensure that approved programmes and functions of the Campus are duly executed
• Oversee general administration of the Campus, including management of human, financial, and material resources within the framework of University policy

Required Qualifications

• Professorial status from an academic or research institution, or equivalent eligibility from industry
• Demonstrated capacity to provide academic leadership in teaching, research, and extension activities in relevant disciplines
• Proven managerial and administrative leadership experience
• Ability to promote a collegial working environment
• Demonstrated capacity to attract funding for research and development
