Position Overview

Location: Accra, Ghana

Job Purpose

To provide technical and operational support for the effective and efficient performance of the water management functions of the commission.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide inputs for the formulation of policies
• Supervise the implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of programmes and activities of the Directorate
• Supervise the development, implementation, and review of plans and guidelines for the utilization, conservation, development, and management of water resources
• Supervise the development and update of a database on water resources
• Provide inputs for the development of research proposals
• Supervise the conduct of aquatic ecological surveys
• Supervise the development and implementation of the commission's laboratory
• Supervise the preparation of annual work plans and budgets of the Directorate
• Supervise the preparation of annual and other periodic reports of the Directorate
• Supervise and appraise the performance of subordinate staff

Required Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Water Resources Engineering and Management, Hydrology, Environmental Science, Water Supply and Environmental Sanitation, Chemistry, or any related discipline from an accredited tertiary institution
• A minimum of 6 years of post-Bachelor's Degree relevant work experience in a reputable organization
