About Our Africa Operations

Newmont's Africa Operations manages two gold mining operations in Ghana: the Ahafo Mine located in the Brong-Ahafo region and the Akyem Mine located in the Eastern region. We also maintain near-mine exploration and development focus in Ghana to annually replace gold reserves, as well as early-stage exploration programs in Ethiopia and Morocco.

Our Africa operations employ approximately 5,900 employees and contractors, with the majority working at the Ahafo Mine. We are committed to industry-leading performance in environmental management, health and safety, and creating value and opportunity for our employees and host communities.

Both Akyem and Ahafo mines have made significant sustainable community development investments, including establishing Development Funds where each mine contributes US$1 per ounce of gold sold and 1% of net pre-tax annual profit into community development initiatives.

Position Overview

We are recruiting a General Foreperson – Mine Operations to plan, coordinate, manage, and execute short, medium, and long-term operational activities of load and haul operations in the pit.
