Job description
Position Summary
The Network/Systems Administrator reports to the Chief Information Technology Officer (CITO) or their representative and is responsible for identifying the specific IT needs of their assigned college/unit and ensuring all IT services are provided in a timely manner. This role supports the unit in alignment with the University of Ghana's vision and mission based on UGCS standard operating procedures.
Reporting Structure
Reports To: Chief Information Technology Officer (CITO) or designee
Unit: Information Technology General
Key Responsibilities
- Provide oversight for the college/unit in ICT planning and management under the auspices of UGCS
- Provide leadership in all areas of IT needs and work with central IT managers to ensure alignment of UGCS IT services across the university
- Lead IT staff within the college/unit and collaborate with IT managers across UGCS to ensure performance, quality, and efficiency
- Recommend innovative approaches to delivering relevant IT services to the college/unit
- Ensure compliance with IT policies, procedures, and standards
- Organize IT resources around the execution of business objectives
- Coordinate with other departments and teams to understand and meet business systems requirements
- Perform periodic performance reporting to support capacity planning for the unit
- Develop and supervise the implementation of staff workplans for constituent schools
- Conduct staff performance appraisals and execute other assignments as directed by the CITO or Provost
Qualifications and Experience Required
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or Electrical Engineering
