National Director at Special Olympics Ghana

About the Position

Special Olympics Ghana is seeking an experienced National Director to provide strategic leadership and oversight of the Special Olympics Ghana Programme and National Office. The successful candidate will ensure the organization's mission, vision, and objectives are achieved while maintaining accountability to the Board of Directors.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement annual strategic plans aligned with Global Special Olympics and Special Olympics Africa Region plans to drive organizational growth and service expansion
• Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements, local regulations, government departments, Acts of Parliament, and relevant legal obligations
• Oversee programme development, implementation, and evaluation
• Manage organizational finances, human resources, operations, communications, branding, media relations, and stakeholder feedback
• Provide Special Olympics Ghana leadership training to local coaches, volunteers, and family members
• Solicit financial support to facilitate organizational expansion, maintain consistent representation at World Games, and secure long-term sustainability through planning and endowment funds in collaboration with the Board of Directors
• Represent Special Olympics Ghana at national and international levels

Authority & Accountability

• Authority determined by Special Olympics Ghana Board of Directors and existing organizational policies
• Fiscal authority limited to existing policies
• Reports directly to the Board of Directors

Qualifications & Experience

• First Degree in relevant field such as Education, Sports Administration, Business Administration, or Non-Profit Management
• Master's Degree preferred
