National Director at Special Olympics Ghana

Job Summary

Special Olympics Ghana is seeking a National Director to provide strategic leadership and oversight for the organization's programme and national office. The successful candidate will ensure the organization's mission, vision, and objectives are achieved and will be accountable to the Board of Directors.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement an annual strategic plan aligned with Global and Special Olympics Africa Region plans to grow the organization's programmes and services
• Ensure all statutory requirements of the Programme and Board of Directors are met to facilitate compliance with relevant local organizations, government departments, Acts of Parliament, and legal obligations
• Oversee programme development, implementation, and evaluation
• Manage the organization's finances, human resources, and operations, including invitations, branding, media relations, feedback, and appreciation
• Provide Special Olympics Ghana leadership training to local coaches, volunteers, and family members
• Solicit financial support to facilitate organizational expansion, consistent representation at World Games, and secure the organization's future through long-term planning and endowment funds (in collaboration with the Board of Directors)
• Represent Special Olympics Ghana at national and international levels

Authority and Limits

• Authority determined by Special Olympics Ghana Board of Directors and existing policies
• Fiscal authority limited to existing policies

Qualifications and Experience Required

• First Degree in a relevant field (e.g., Education, Sports Administration, Business Administration, or Non-Profit Management)
• Master's Degree preferred
