Manager, Data Privacy & Protection at MTN Ghana

Position Overview

We are seeking a Manager, Data Privacy & Protection to manage the implementation of MTN Ghana's data privacy and protection program in line with applicable data protection laws and internal compliance frameworks. The role ensures the lawful, ethical, and secure processing of personal data, while supporting business objectives and managing data privacy and protection-related risks.

Primary Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain MTN Ghana's data privacy and protection framework in compliance with the Ghana Data Protection Act and other applicable laws
• Conduct Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) for new systems, products, services, and third-party engagements
• Develop, review, and update privacy policies, procedures, and guidelines, ensuring they reflect legal and regulatory changes
• Maintain a comprehensive data inventory and personal data flow map across the organisation
• Monitor compliance with data protection policies through regular audits, testing, and monitoring activities
• Coordinate internal investigations into privacy-related incidents, ensuring prompt resolution and reporting to authorities where necessary
• Support the development and integration of "privacy by design and default" into systems, products, and processes
• Develop and facilitate privacy programmes, including delivery of initial orientation and continuous privacy training to all employees, volunteers, contractors, alliances, business associates, and other appropriate third parties
• Collaborate with legal, IT, marketing, HR, and other departments to ensure data privacy compliance across all business functions
